WOMANIPURA-Vitality through Fire

I was born in Methuen, MA, spent my childhood in Ft.Lauderdale, FL and my teenage/early 20's in Chicago, IL. After Ieaving Chicago, I backpacked around Europe where I first saw fire dancing on the streets of Krakow, Poland. Dancers and fire breathers were entertaining tourists. After much traveling around Europe and the U.S., I landed in the Pacific Northwest. During my first summer in Seattle, I was exposed to fire dancing again when I was asked to join a performance for the Burning Man Festival 2003. I practiced quite a bit before I burnt my first set of clubs. When I heard the "whoosh" of the flames, I was hooked. I was lucky to have other inspiring fire dancers in my city to learn from. Since then, I've learned more tools and begun practicing regularly with the girls in my troupe. My favorite thing is to dance for people who have never seen it before. I view fire dancing as my way to flow between the same energy that makes up the stars. I intend to fire dance until the day I die.
